Starting the Quest

Talk to Brother Kojo inside the Clock Tower, located south-west of Ardougne Zoo.

General Cog Mechanics

Go down the ladder inside the Clock Tower to reach the dungeon.

Note the coloured tiles on the floor in the next room; these indicate the general direction of the corresponding cog.

You can only carry one cog at a time.

Getting the Black Cog

From the coloured tile room, follow the direction indicated by the black tile.

Go through the passage to a door.

Enter the room containing level 2 Giant Spiders and the Black Cog surrounded by flames.

Use a Bucket of water on the cog OR wear Ice gloves to pick it up.

Return to the main ladder and climb up to the ground floor (1st floor [US]).

Use the Black Cog on the black pole on this floor.

Getting the Red Cog

Go back down the ladder to the dungeon and return to the coloured tile room.

Follow the direction indicated by the red tile (south-east).

Enter the room containing three level 53 Ogres and the Red Cog.

Carefully pick up the Red Cog (avoid or fight the Ogres).

Return to the main ladder and climb up to the 1st floor (2nd floor [US]).

Use the Red Cog on the red pole on this floor.

Getting the White Cog

Go back down the ladder to the dungeon and return to the coloured tile room.

Follow the direction indicated by the white tile (north-west).

Continue north-west to find Rat poison on the floor and pick it up.

Go east to find a rat cage with two levers.

Pull both levers to open the cage doors and enter.

Use the Rat poison on the 'Rats food trough' inside the cage.

Wait for the rats to eat the poison and die. A nearby door will open.

Enter the newly opened room and pick up the White Cog.

Go up the ladder in this area (you will appear outside the Clock Tower).

Re-enter the Clock Tower and climb the stairs/ladders to the 2nd floor (3rd floor [US]).

Use the White Cog on the white pole on this floor.

Getting the Blue Cog

Go back down the main ladder to the dungeon and return to the coloured tile room.

Follow the direction indicated by the blue tile (south-west).

Enter the room with several caged monsters. The Blue Cog is also caged with no obvious door.

Find and climb the ladder within this room (you will appear outside the Clock Tower).

Walk north-east towards the Ardougne Monastery gate. Find Brother Cedric.

Locate a ladder just west of Brother Cedric and climb down.

Follow the underground passage until you reach a wall/door.

Go through the door and pick up the Blue Cog.

Climb back up the ladder.

Re-enter the Clock Tower and climb the stairs/ladders to the 1st floor (2nd floor [US]).

Use the Blue Cog on the blue pole on this floor.

Completing the Quest

Ensure all four cogs are placed on their respective poles.

Talk to Brother Kojo on the ground floor to claim your reward.
