Description

Merlin the Wizard has carelessly become imprisoned inside a giant crystal. Take up King Arthur's quest to free Merlin and become one of the Knights of the Round Table.

Walkthrough

Starting the quest

Talk to King Arthur in Camelot Castle and ask him if you can be a knight of his round table. Accept the quest.

Gathering Information

Talk to Sir Gawain (in Camelot Castle) and ask how Merlin got trapped, then ask for ideas to get into Keep Le Faye.

Talk to Sir Lancelot (in Camelot Castle) and ask for ideas to get into Keep Le Faye.

Infiltrating Keep Le Faye

Go to Catherby.

Find the crate behind the candle shop (west of the bank).

Right-click the crate and choose 'Hide-in'. You will be shipped to Keep Le Faye.

Confronting Morgan Le Faye

Inside Keep Le Faye, go up the stairs to the top floor.

Talk to Sir Mordred. He will attack you.

Fight Sir Mordred until Morgan Le Fay appears and tells you to stop.

Talk to Morgan Le Fay and ask her how to untrap Merlin.

Obtaining the Black Candle

Return to Catherby.

Talk to the candle maker inside his shop.

Get Insect repellent from the house north of the Catherby bank.

Go west to the beehives.

Use the Insect repellent on a beehive.

Right-click the hive and choose 'Take-from' (requires a Bucket in inventory - buy one from a general store if needed).

Return to the candle maker with the bucket of wax. He will give you a Black candle.

Use a Tinderbox on the Black candle to light it.

Getting Excalibur

Go to the lake south of Taverley.

Talk to the Lady of the Lake. Tell her you seek Excalibur.

Go to the jewellery shop in Port Sarim.

Attempt to open the door. A beggar will appear.

Give the beggar a Loaf of bread.

The beggar will reveal herself as the Lady of the Lake and give you Excalibur.

Finding the Magic Words

Travel to the Chaos Temple located in level 12 Wilderness (east of the Dark Knights' Fortress).

Right-click the altar inside and choose 'Check Altar' to learn the magic words: Snarthon Candtrick Termanto.

Summoning Thrantax

Return to Camelot Castle.

Go to the north-east side of the castle grounds where there is a pentagram on the floor.

Stand on the orange symbol within the pentagram.

Drop the Bat bones onto the symbol.

A demon (Thrantax) will appear. You must chant the words you learned. Select the options corresponding to: Snarthon, Candtrick, Termanto.

Thrantax will confirm the magic binding Merlin is weakened.

Freeing Merlin and Completing

Go to the south-east tower of Camelot Castle.

Climb to the top floor where Merlin is trapped.

Use the Excalibur sword on the crystal to shatter it.

Talk to Merlin.

Return to King Arthur and talk to him to claim your reward.
