Description

Help the Observatory Professor fix his telescope by retrieving a lens mould and crafting a new lens.

Walkthrough

Starting the Quest

Talk to the Observatory Professor in the observatory building north of the Castle Wars arena.

He will ask you to retrieve items to fix his telescope.

Gathering Parts

Ensure you have a Bronze bar, Molten glass, and 3 Planks.

Talk to the Professor again and give him the items.

He will ask you to find a Lens mould in the dungeon below.

Finding the Key

Climb down the ladder in the Professor's building.

Navigate the dungeon south, then east towards the most southeastern room.

Open the chest in this room and search it to find the Keep key. Be aware that opening other chests may spawn poison spiders.

Note: An Antipoison potion can be found near the ladder if needed.

Finding the Mould

Head back towards the dungeon entrance.

Locate a small room marked with a bed icon on the minimap (requires high detail settings).

Enter the room and defeat the Goblin guard (level 42).

Search the sacks (specifically the west ones) inside the room to find the Lens mould.

Exit the dungeon by climbing back up the ladder.

Crafting the Lens

Talk to the Professor. He will ask you to craft the lens.

Use the Molten glass on a furnace while having the Lens mould and Bronze bar in your inventory (requires 10 Crafting).

Talk to the Professor again with the finished Telescope lens.

Using the Telescope

The Professor will ask you to meet him in the observatory room within the dungeon.

Climb back down the ladder.

Navigate south through the dungeon. Look for three dead-end passages close together on the map; take the southernmost of these.

Climb up the ladder at the end of the passage.

Click on the Telescope to look through it and view a constellation.

Completing the Quest

After viewing the constellation, you will automatically speak to the Professor.

Quest Complete! You will receive your rewards.

Optional: Speak to the Assistant for a Jug of wine.

Optional: Visit the Spirit of Scorpious (northeast of the observatory, requires Ghostspeak amulet or Morytania legs 2+) to get an Unholy symbol mould.
