Starting the Quest

Enter the Champions' Guild (requires 32 Quest Points).

Talk to the Guildmaster.

Ask him about Rune Plate Mail. He will tell you to talk to Oziach.

Travel to Oziach's house, north-west of Edgeville, near the Wilderness ditch.

Oziach and the Map Pieces

Talk to Oziach.

Ask him about buying a rune platebody.

Ask him about the anti-dragon shield.

Ask where you can find the map pieces. He will give you a Maze key.

Map Piece 1: The Oracle

Items needed: Unfired bowl, Lobster pot, Silk, Wizard's mind bomb.

Travel to the Oracle on Ice Mountain (west of Edgeville, above the Dwarven Mine entrance).

Speak to the Oracle. She will tell you about a door in the Dwarven Mine.

Enter the Dwarven Mine.

Go to the eastern part of the mine and open the magical door (requires the 4 items in inventory, which will be consumed).

Search the chest inside to receive the first map piece.

Map Piece 2: Melzar's Maze

Items needed: Maze key (from Oziach), combat equipment.

Go to Melzar's Maze, south of the Crafting Guild, north-west of Falador.

Use the Maze key on the door to enter.

Kill Giant rats (level 6) until one drops a Red key.

Use the Red key on the north-western door and climb the ladder.

Kill Ghosts (level 19) until one drops an Orange key.

Use the Orange key on the door second from the north on the eastern wall.

Kill Skeletons (level 22) until one drops a Yellow key.

Use the Yellow key on the most south-western door. Climb down the ladder.

Climb down the next ladder.

Kill Zombies (level 24) until one drops a Blue key.

Use the Blue key on the north-western door.

Kill Melzar the Mad (level 43) until he drops a Magenta key.

Use the Magenta key on the northern door.

Kill the Lesser Demon (level 82) until it drops a Green key.

Use the Green key on the western door.

Search the chest inside to receive the second map piece.

Map Piece 3: Wormbrain

Items needed: Either 10,000 coins OR combat equipment (Range/Magic) + runes for Telekinetic Grab.

Go to the Port Sarim Jail (south of the Port Sarim lodestone, east of the Falador farming patch).

Option A (Pay): Talk to Wormbrain (level 2) in the cell. Ask about the map piece. Agree to pay 10,000 coins. Talk to him again to pay and receive the third map piece.

Option B (Kill): Attack Wormbrain with Ranged or Magic from outside the cell. Once he is dead, cast Telekinetic Grab on the map piece he drops.

Use any of the map pieces on another one to combine them into Crandor map.

The Anti-Dragon Shield

Travel to Lumbridge Castle.

Go to the 1st floor[UK]2nd floor[US] and talk to Duke Horacio.

Ask him about a shield to protect you from dragon breath. He will give you the Anti-dragon shield.

Optional Tip: Drop the shield, ask the Duke for another, then pick up the first shield to have a spare.

Preparing the Ship

Items needed: 2,000 coins, Hammer, 3 Planks, 12 Steel nails (or 6 Steel bars to make nails at an anvil), Crandor map.

Go to the southern-most dock in Port Sarim (east of the food store).

Talk to Klarenk (labelled 'Captain' in guide). Ask to buy the ship (Lady Lumbridge). Pay him 2,000 coins.

Board the ship.

Go down the ladder.

Use a Plank on the hole in the ship's hull. Repeat until the hole is fixed (requires 3 Planks and 12 Nails).

Hiring Ned

Items needed: Crandor map, Anti-dragon shield, combat equipment, food, potions.

Go to Draynor Village.

Talk to Ned in his house (north-east part of the village).

Ask him to navigate your ship to Crandor. He will agree and take your map.

Prepare for the trip and the fight: Ensure you have your Anti-dragon shield equipped, along with your best combat gear, plenty of food, and any potions (Combat, Prayer, Anti-poison recommended).

Voyage to Crandor

Return to your ship, the Lady Lumbridge, at the Port Sarim dock.

Board the ship and go down the ladder.

Talk to Ned to set sail for Crandor.

Navigating Crandor

After the cutscene, you will arrive at Crandor. The ship will be wrecked.

Walk south off the dock and go up the hill.

Follow the path south-east, avoiding aggressive King Scorpions (level 32).

Continue north up another hill.

Run past the Lesser Demon (level 82) near the peak.

Enter the dungeon entrance (cave opening).

Elvarg's Lair

Inside the cave, run past Skeletons (level 22 and level 45).

Go through the gate/door at the northern end.

Prepare for the fight: Drink any potions now. Ensure your Anti-dragon shield is equipped.

Walk north into the final chamber.

Fighting Elvarg

Attack Elvarg (level 83 - guide states 86).

Keep Protect from Melee prayer active if possible.

Keep your Anti-dragon shield equipped at all times to reduce dragonfire damage.

Eat food when your health gets low.

Defeat Elvarg.

Completion and Escape

After Elvarg is defeated, you will be teleported outside the lair entrance.

Run south, past the Lesser Demon again.

Find the 'secret' wall on the western side of the southern peninsula of Crandor.

Open the wall. This leads into the Karamja Volcano dungeon.

You can now either teleport out or navigate through the volcano dungeon to exit near Musa Point on Karamja.

Quest complete! Return to Oziach in Edgeville to gain the ability to purchase Rune platebodies and Green d'hide bodies.
